Out-of-the-box
Thanks to the principle of instructions and our mediators, we create specific and occasional workshops!
Workshop – Art-Werk: imagining the resources that make up a school
A series of co-creation workshops took place from November 27 to December 6, 2025, at the Salle communale du Faubourg, as part of Phase I of the (re)connecting.earth Biennale (03). – Sensitive Resources. Aimed at 5th–7th grade students in Geneva schools and an intergenerational audience, the workshops invite participants to explore the origins of everyday materials through a treasure hunt and artistic works. By combining visual arts, natural sciences, and sustainability education, they encourage a sensitive, creative, and reflective approach to the links between nature, resources, and human uses. The students' work can be continued in class and presented during Phase II of the Biennale in spring 2026.
Workshop – Bains des Pâquis
In 2025, eight workshops were led by mediators on the theme of ecology and the presence of water in cities, in dialogue with contemporary art. These workshops were created following the Biennale (re)connecting. earth (02) – Beyond Water presented in Geneva in 2024.
These workshops are now taking place in primary schools through the Duchamp au Lac program – An artistic immersion in aquatic life.
Workshop – HEAD – ACTION NOW!
In February 2022, the ACTION NOW! (Re)connecting.earth workshop, led by Caroline Bachmann at HEAD – Geneva, brought together twenty students to explore artistic creation in the form of instructions. In keeping with the legacy initiated by Marcel Duchamp, the workshop combined theory and practice to design, exhibit, and perform artistic “instructions,” either individually or in groups. Starting from the idea of a “crisis of sensitivity,” the project explored how art can reactivate a direct and sensitive connection to the environment, in response to often abstract ecological discourses. The works produced were presented to the public at the Bains des Pâquis between February 26 and March 11, 2022.
Les Créateliers
From August 9 to 27, 2021, the Les Créateliers association hosted free afternoon workshops at Square Monthoux for children and families from Pâquis neighborhood. These creative activities were led by artists, based on the works of reconnecting.earth.
